Although this is not a customer-facing job, it requires customer focus.  Provides planning, pre and post sales and customer support. Supports internal Client Services Managers and Sales teams. Facilitates accuracy, placement and quality of sold ads. Enters contracts/insertion orders into billing system, initiates invoices, schedules print ads and analyzes and approves all advertising materials received from Client Services Managers. Primarily focuses on and supports print services.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</span></strong> </p>
<ul>
<li>Maintains customer service culture ensured by the prompt response to the Advertising 800 line and Advertising email support.</li>
<li>Assists with the planning and RFP process, including filling out agency grids (including boilerplate information about Summit and the brands) based on established copy. </li>
<li>Upon receipt of an insertion order, re-enters the appropriate data into the billing system.</li>
<li>Works with appropriate internal groups to gather appropriate data to enter into the billing system.</li>
<li>Gathers accurate production materials for print publication and passes them on to Art Directors.</li>
<li>Prepares invoicing process in billing system for print, custom and online orders.</li>
<li>Communicates regularly with Client Services Managers regarding any special situations in regard to clients&#8217; advertising and/or billing.</li>
<li>Provides standard revenue/sales reports for management and sales teams. Provides ad hoc reports when approved by Department manager.</li>
<li>Coordinates and submits print orders, prep sheets, run sheets and layouts to Circulation to ensure proper assessment with printer. </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</strong>:<em> </em></p>

<li>Strong organizational and inter-personal skills.<em></em></li>

<p>The Executive Editor of Retirement is responsible for overseeing the editorial product build out of the Plan Advisor and Plan Sponsor channels on BenefitsPro.com. In addition to elevating the quality of the site’s traditional editorial coverage &#8212; including news, blogs, and features &#8212; the position will be responsible for engendering a participatory community model on the site. The position will also spearhead the development of interactive features that drive deeper community engagement.</p>
<p>The Executive Editor of Retirement will become a thought leader in the defined contribution plan space and work closely with the publisher and sales team to identify and capitalize on the needs of the marketplace.</p>
<p>The position will require a high-level understanding of digital media, editorial management, content generation, and audience engagement in order to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Enhance BenefitsPro’s editorial and institutional thought leadership</li>
<li>Increase of online readership metrics via the daily news coverage and ongoing online feature development</li>
<li>Lead new product development efforts</li>
<li>Develop editorially driven revenue opportunities in conjunction with Strategic Content and special projects</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Take the lead role in content planning meetings, developing feature stories and special editorial projects on an ongoing basis, as well as entertaining story pitches from the editorial staff</li>
<li>Develop and editorial calendar for the year, as well as monthly content cycles throughout the year</li>
<li>Work with art directors to ensure that editorial content has a visually compelling presentation, as well as to develop other visual content, such as infographics</li>
<li>Work in conjunction with other lead editors on sister publications to develop content that crosses brand lines</li>
<li>Contribute personally to each monthly content cycle with an Editorial column and a mix of daily news items, additional column writing and feature writing</li>
<li>Partake in opportunities that increase his or her own personal brand visibility and subject matter expertise. This includes, but is not limited to, participating in webinars, speaking at industry events, providing quotes to mainstream media, and working in strategic partnership with external media sources</li>
<li>Manage editorial budget for retirement channel</li>
<li>Manage internal staff editors dedicated to the BenefitsPro retirement channel, as well as external contributors, freelancers and stringer reporters</li>
</ul>
