Bob Cummings
Bob Cummings joined Wind Point as a managing director in 1987. Bob is currently a director of Knape and Vogt, Nonni’s, Santa Maria Foods, United Subcontractors, VICORP Restaurants, Waterbury and York Label. Prior to joining Wind Point, Bob was a general partner at Robertson, Colman & Stephens (“RCS”), the predecessor firm to Robertson, Stephens & Company. At RCS, Bob was responsible for the development of the firm’s venture capital activities, which totaled approximately $150 million under management in four funds. Prior to joining RCS, Bob was a consultant with McKinsey & Co. Bob is a BSME graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He also served for five years as an engineering officer and line officer in the nuclear submarine force of the U.S. Navy prior to attending Harvard.
Jim TenBroek
Jim TenBroek joined Wind Point in 1997 as a managing director. Jim is currently a director of Active Interest Media, Summit Business Media and U.S. Security. Prior to joining Wind Point, Jim was an investment professional with GTCR. Prior to GTCR, Jim was an engineering manager with Hewlett Packard’s Medical Products Group, and earlier a staff scientist at C.S. Draper Laboratories. Jim holds a BA in engineering sciences from Dartmouth College, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kapa, a Masters in electrical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Alex Washington
Alex Washington joined Wind Point in 2002 and was promoted to managing director in 2007. Alex is currently a director of Summit Business Media and Vertellus Specialties. Prior to joining Wind Point, Alex was a senior associate at Whitney & Co. Previously, he was a business analyst at McKinsey & Co. Alex holds a BA in finance from Morehouse College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Alex is also a member of the Class VI of Kauffman Fellows.
Efrem Zimbalist III
Efrem Zimbalist III is Chairman and CEO of Active Interest Media (AIM), a media company formed in 2003 to serve niche enthusiast markets. Previously, Mr. Zimbalist was Chief Financial Officer of Times Mirror. Prior to joining Times Mirror, Mr. Zimbalist served as chairman and chief executive officer of Correia Art Glass, Inc., a family-owned business. Mr. Zimbalist served for two years as an officer in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corp, including one year in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He received a BA degree in economics from Harvard College and a Master's Degree in Business Administration with honors from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Mr. Zimbalist serves or has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Robert Louis Stevenson School, Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Curtis Institute of Music, as a member of the Carnegie Hall Corporate Fund Board and the Leadership Board of Lincoln, the House Ear Institute, the Colorado Festival of World Theatre, and the Summit Business Media.
William F. Baker
William F. Baker became president emeritus of Thirteen/WNET in 2008 after serving as chief executive officer of EBC, licensee of Thirteen/WNET and WLIW21 New York, for 20 years. Baker previously served a dual role as president of Westinghouse Television, Inc. (from 1979) and chairman of Group W Satellite Communications (from 1981). In 2007, Baker was inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Management Hall of Fame. Baker is chairman of the National Park System Advisory Board. He also serves on the boards of the Public Broadcasting Service, Rodale Press, Freedom Communication, Inc., The British Academy of Film and Television Arts East Coast, and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Foundation. He is a former president and current board member of the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and was a PBS director from 1991-97. Baker received his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Case Western Reserve University, and has been recognized with honorary degrees from St. John’s University, College of St. Elizabeth, Long Island University, New School University, and Seton Hall University.
